One of the boss called me “dragon lady” the other day
He found out that this year’s Chinese New Year falls exactly on my birthday (I’m turning 32!!) and coincidentally it’s a dragon year hence the moniker.
It will be a bittersweet moment for me. With due respect to my MIL’s passing, we cannot celebrate anything for the 100 days period; birthdays, Chinese New Year, parties included.
This year is going to be a hush-hush event for Hughie & I (Hughie & my birthday all falls within the 100 days time frame); although we will be back with my family who is celebrating, I will need to observe this as I’m representing hubby for the family. Hubby will not be around during that time.
Tough part is … I’m staying with my family who is celebrating *think …..*
So. Let me say this now before the day comes and I forget.
To those celebrating, I’m sorry I won’t be able to visit (don’t call me anti-social if I don’t call). To those with kids, sorry no red ang-pows this year (don’t call me a scrooge if your kids don’t have anything from me).
Wish you all a good Dragon year 2012. I’m sure the water dragon will treat you all well – health & prosperity.
